A Wonderful Break in the Scilly Sunshine

On Monday April 12th, since the governement allowed us to travel to self catering properties across the UK, we jumped at the opportunity to drive down to Cornwall and took the tiny plane over to Sarah's on The Isles of Scilly. I must admit, It is quite handy to have a business partner who owns 3 holiday cottages on the beautiful island of Bryher, the smallest of the inhabited islands just 28 miles off the Cornish coast. (Follow her instagram @seriouslyscilly or visit her website www.seriouslyscilly.com) for details).

Our trip was a mix of business and pleasure as Sarah and I had so much to go through having not seen each other since December. It is so great to choose colours together and touch and feel samples making decisions on future products. We did manage to fit in some fun things too though and luckily our families get on brilliantly. We ate fresh lobster from Island Fish, Visited Tresco Abbey Gardens and had a lovely lunch at The New Inn, We indulged our husbands in a bit of online wine tasting with BBerry Brothers and Rudd, The kids when crabbing and spent time in the Hot Tub and generally indulged in their freedom. We had takeaway from Olivia's Kitchen and then a wonderful final night meal from Tanglewood Kitchen on St Mary's...all highly recommended if you are ever lucky enough to visit the islands.

The weather was amazing for the whole week with not a cloud in the sky and the sun was wonderfully warm. When the sun shines, the colours here are simply amazing - the sea is intense blue and the white sand literally sparkles - if the sea wasn't so cold, you really do forget you are in the UK. We also experienced some incredible sunsets and calm waters - simply beautiful.

Sarah & I worked for a couple of days but we love what we do so it never feels like a chore and we are always itching to do more. We made so many decisions about the future of Donna May London and what exciting things are yet to come. Luckily we are not just business partners but also firm friends and decisions generally come easily as we are both very much on the same page.

It is always sad to say goodbye and it is never long enough but one final surprise for the kids on the way home was taking the helicopter - they had no idea and they were so excited when we arrived at the Heliport on Tresco. Such a wonderful week! I hope that you all had lovely Easter Breaks too.
