10 minutes with...Lisa Snowdon
I met Lisa over 20 years ago, it was one of my early makeup jobs and I can remember her being so welcoming and non fussed that, even though it was a high end shoot, she made me feel really at ease .
To this day, the smell of Nars Body Glow reminds me of Lisa, as I smothered her in it this day!!
Luckily Lisa is a regular face at ITV these days so we get to see each other most weeks...usually in the ladies loo!
She’s not only a natural beauty but I can honestly say she’s never changed over the years, she’s always happy, smiley, chatty and bloody down to earth! Plus, she has always helped support Donna May London when she can x

You have had such a wonderfully long, successful and varied career so far, what do you think is your greatest achievement to date?
It really has been a long one Donna! haha thanks for pointing out my age! But seriously I do thank my lucky stars and feel that my biggest achievement is that I am still working after 30 years! and still loving it! and you're right its been so varied and so exciting!
As a model you travelled the world...which is your favourite hideaway
I have been to so many places i truly never thought i would have had the chance to see. I lived in Japan when i was 20, that was beyond incredible and a brilliant way to learn so much about the Japanese culture. I met some incredible people and worked on some of my favourite photoshoots.
I now have the deepest love and passion for Japan and everything about it and traveled there about 6 or 7 times.
I also adore the beach and being in the ocean...I have been so lucky to have travelled to some stunning ones all over the world. The Caribbean is always a winner, as is Thailand and I do love a bit of South Africa, I have shot a few commercials there, Special K and M&S to name a few.
I am a real foodie and in all the places I have mentioned I have had some seriously memorable meals!
Again Donna, another really tough question! Jeez, its hard to choose one, as with my job i have met some remarkable people from all walks of life. I could do a little name drop and say Stevie Wonder as growing up his music was such a huge part of my childhood and to this day when I hear any Stevie track it evokes a raw emotion in me that I can't explain. When I met him i was just blown away and star stuck like never before, so much so that i didn’t really say anything at all, I completely blew it...ha!
But honestly, I am going to say my Nana, my wonderful nana Nora. the strongest, most amazing woman ever. I have learnt so much from her...resilience, her humour, her love and kindness. She loved to cook and to sing and always looked immaculate, always nails and lips done. I still think of her every single day and i miss her so so much.
So I mentioned Stevie Wonder and anything by him, especially the album 'Songs In the Key of life'- every single song is just outstanding. Also Prince he’s another huge favourite of mine...'When Doves Cry' reminds me of being 11 years old and going off on a school trip in Wales- also Rufus and Chaka Khan 'I feel for you' One of the greatest songs ever!!!

Is there a piece of advice that you have been given over the years that has really stuck with you and if yes, can you pass this on for our readers?
Always listen to your gut instinct, you know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when something doesn't feel right, it means it isn’t! Trust in your intuition.
What is the last thing that you spent over £50 on? Was it something nice? share.
I bought a gorgeous pair of Ash sandals online. Black with gold studs. i am very happy with them.
You simply don't age and have such amazing skin - do you follow a rigid skincare regime?
You are being very kind honey! Well for those who know me know I love my beauty products, my skincare and all of the above! Basically I’m a bit of a beauty junkie. I love taking care of myself hence why, whilst in lockdown, I started up my series 'Self Care Sunday' on my instagram. I wanted to share everything I'd learnt over the years, give some advice and tips of products and brands that I love.
ok - lets talk makeup - what is both the oldest and newest item in your makeup bag? Newest product would be my Dr Perricone No Make up, Make up products - concealer and mascara.
Oldest is a lipliner that I have had for about 15 years, and it's down to a tiny little stumpI It's from MonoPrix a French supermarket in Paris, its called Bamboo and is the most amazing shade of brown. I'm sure other brands do something similar but I'm yet to find one and MonoPrix no longer stock it. It also brings back so many memories of shoots in Paris and in London working with the most amazing make up artists- I don’t even really use it anymore as it's so nearly gone, but when I see it in my make up box it makes me smile.
Which makeup product could you not live without - your desert island choice?
Sunscreen, obviously on a desert island- but i do love a bit of mascara..
What is your favourite lip colour - brand and shade?
I love so many! the Chanel lip glosses are fabulous though!
Is there any particular makeup product from the past that really sticks in your mind and evokes memories - ie, the smell of your nan's powder etc.
I love Shu Uemura. Again their products bring back memories of my first trip to Japan and every other day going into the most stunning store, opposite to where my modelling agency was, to look and drool at all the gorgeous make up and products. I would save my pennies and buy a few products at a time. Then just before I left to go home i'd saved enough money to treat myself to buy a professional make up box, i still have it this day! It is 30 years old now and full of make up!
Finally - We hope that you are now fully recovered from the virus and we are so genuinely sorry that you had to cancel your wedding. How has lockdown been for you? How have you spent the time and Is it something you have relished or are you keen to get back to normality?
For me, lockdown has had its ups and downs. Mostly ups I have to say. The slower pace of life agrees with me, I am more mindful of what I am doing day to day.
I have managed to sort through things that I had been putting off for years.
George and I thankfully really like each other so that bit has been easy, except for when I can hear him on his work calls!
Life is slowly getting back to some sort of normality but I defiantly miss getting my makeup done professionally! I mean, I am not bad at doing my hair and makeup, but not a patch on you girls!
