10 Minutes with Charlie Brooks...

This week we are featuring somebody who flies in and out of my life depending on what she's up to or working on!

You will all know the lovely Charlie Brooks as the actress who played Janine Butcher in Eastenders many moons ago.  I've made Charlie up loads of times over the years both in a work capacity as a guest on Loose Women or The Lorraine show and in her private life for special occasions. We share a love of red lips so she's always a pleasure to make up!!

From Queen of the Jungle in 2012, she is now setting up an exciting new venture called @iampro which is an On-Line Drama school, which includes tutorials from people from the other side of the camera, who all give career advice for aspiring young people wanting to work in the TV/Film industry, from Actors and camera men to costume stylists and makeup artists, she's got it covered.

Check out www.iampro.com and her IG feed @iampro.

You are very well known face from our TV screens, especially for your award winning work on Eastenders  - what do you feel is your biggest achievement to date?
Aside from giving birth to my wonderful daughter, it has to be running my first marathon

You deservedly won I'm a Celebrity a few years ago, what item (not person) did you miss most in the jungle
Book. Without question. Books

Who is the most inspirational person you have ever met? Famous or not.
I’m currently working with a lady called Julia Leckey, who is inspirational to me on so many different levels. I’m blessed to have her in my life.

You have been in the public eye for such a long time - do you think life in the media was easier before Social Media?
Yes, I think so. I found myself being at home much more of an evening, not necessarily a bad thing!I have a love hate relationship with social media. I use it as a tool  and to relate to other women and mums, I think it's great that we can connect over similar problems or aspirations, and it can also feel very exposing, but is a huge help in so many ways.

If you could have 3 people to dinner, dead or alive (lockdown being done and dusted) who would it be and why?
Elizabeth Moss (my actress obsession), Marrianne Williamson, The goddess of everything,

Let's talk makeup - What is the oldest item in your makeup bag? And you’re newest?
A Mac eye shadow palette from when I was in Eastenders! A Pat McGrath lippy and eye shadow I got for my birthday.

Which product within your makeup bag could you not live without?

What is your favourite lip colour - brand and name?
Chanel bright orange/red lip crayon Think it’s called provocation.

Do you carry anything that is not makeup related within your makeup bag? I am hoping for something really obscure :-)
Tweezers? Not that obscure..oh and usually a lighter..

Fashion : Who’s look/style do you really admire?
Siena Miller as she always seems natural, not too made up and I love a bit of boho chic..

Is there one piece of advice you have been given over the years that has really stuck with you and if yes, can you pass this on to us?
1000 little steps. Just keep taking small bites of the elephant and eventually you will get there x

How are you finding Lockdown? What are the best and worst parts for you?
I feel blessed as I have a garden and have really enjoyed the guilt free time out. I think the World and all the people in it will hit the reset button ready to go again in the near future. I know it’s been hard and scary, but sometimes you have to just unplug something for it to start properly again x

Lovely honest interview such a down to earth person. Love the bit about unplugging something for it to start properly again. This will stick with me and I will probably use this in future. X
