Summer Holiday Style

DONNA'S HOLIDAY FAVOURITES...

With the holiday season approaching, and home schooling thankfully coming to an end ( my boys have completely lost all motivation now, and tbh so have I! ) I thought I'd share some new summer purchases & what's on my wish list!

I don't care what anyone tells you, you are never too old to wear dungarees. I was gifted these lovely Lina Dungarees recently and I know I will be wearing them all summer...i've just seen that they come in pink and I'm going to buy them too...I'm so excited. With a vest top or t-shirt or casually thrown over a swimsuit, they are so versatile.
Here is Nadia looking lovely in hers on their website...

I LOVE this pink Cheesecloth dress ( and everything else NBRY sells) I would wear this over a swimsuit to the beach or to wander around a holiday market with a straw hat. It's so pretty with the ruffle neckline (you know I love a ruffle or a bow!) but the fabric makes it a daytime piece so it would look stylish but not too over the top.

A few weeks ago I bought my  £22.50 M&S sandals....apparently all things woven are HOT for the summer. These go with everything and look really nice with anything from a floaty skirt to jeans and jean shorts and a cute basket on your arm!

Everybody kept asking me where the red top I was wearing in a recent IGTV video was from? It was from H&M but I can't find it on the website, as I bought it in store, but this red top is very similar.   I also bought the red version in cream, black & beige because I know I'll wear them all summer.

And finally to my husband's dismay, every year I purchase a new straw hat... it just seems that they either get a bit squished or I just go off them and they all end up hanging on the hat rack in the porch! This is the one I'll be buying as soon as Large comes back into stock ( i've got a big head!) from And other Stories.
Anything you find with ruffles and bows send my way! xxxx

SARAH'S PICKS FOR STAYCATION ISLAND STYLE...

Living on an island can be tricky when it comes to fashion as the weather can change very quickly, boats are the transport of choice and when it comes to shoes, we have beaches, dirt tracks and no pavements as such!  Simple and classic pieces are usually the way forward so for anyone just about to embark on a UK beach holiday, here are few of my current key pieces...

I have literally lived in my denim skirt this summer - it goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe and as I usually live in jeans it is nice to be able to get my legs out!  I love this one from Zara (who are one of the only companies that deliver to us by next day delivery here on Scilly).

I am an absolute sucker for a floaty white top and this wide silk blend blouse from H&M is the latest one to make its way into my basket!

I literally live in simple sliders in the summer months - and each year invest in a neutral pair that I can dress up or dress down - these Bertie Mules from Dune are my choice for this year.

We all know that the weather in the UK can be unpredictable to say the least! A lightweight throw on jacket is an essential accessory when holidaying in the UK - I love this pale pink boxy one from H&M and it has a hood to keep a check on your frizzy hair moments!!

Finally - a good all round dress is an essential - one you can wear with either trainers during the day or Dress up with sandals in the evening...and obviously one that will look good with a denim or leather look jacket for those cool breezy UK evenings!!!  I love this green floaty dress from Zara which not only looks great but the viscose used in production is obtained from wood grown in sustainably managed forests and meets strict environmental standards.
