How to cover Age Spots

This is a long one, but it's a continuous question I'm asked over and over again!

As we age, our skin undergoes various changes, and one common concern that i'm inundated with is the appearance of age spots. These pigmented areas, also known as liver spots or sunspots, can be a source of self-consciousness for some. However, with the right makeup techniques, you can conceal age spots easily. I'll take you through a step-by-step guide on how to cover age spots with makeup:

Step 1: Prep Your Skin

Begin by cleansing your face to remove any dirt or excess oils. If your age spot is dried/crusty then follow up with a hydrating moisturizer or primer to create a smooth and even base for your makeup. I suggest using a Vit C Cleanser as Vit C helps lighten Age spots.

Step 2: Use a Peachy Concealer

Use a concealer that has a peachy tinge to it ( the darker your skin, the more peachy/orange you need it) Orange and peach correct blue hues, under eye circles, dark spots caused by aging or sun damage. Dab the concealer with your finger ( tap and roll) onto the age spots and gently blend the edges to seamlessly integrate with the surrounding skin.

Step 3: Choose the Right Foundation

Look for foundations with buildable coverage, as this allows you to layer the product where needed without appearing heavy. Make sure to choose a shade that matches your skin tone perfectly. Once foundation is on, if you need more coverage on the age spot, apply one more layer of concealer .

Step 4: Set with Powder

To set your foundation and concealer in place, use a translucent setting powder. Use a fluffy brush to apply the powder lightly over the areas with the age spots, but try and keep away from the fine lines around the eyes .
